In the documentary "Cats of Tyre", the two filmmakers Lina Zaraket and Shamila Lengsfeld portray the diverse fates of Lebanon's children, giving an intimate look at their lives, dreams and challenges amidst political instability, economic insecurity and social inequality.

This film will be screened as part of our short film competition on Tuesday 17 October at 7.30pm and Wednesday 18 October at 8pm.

Lina Zaraket is a Lebanese actress and filmmaker located in North Rhine-Westphalia.The very personal documentary “Cats of Tyre” is a biographical work in her native language, Arabic and sheds light on the traces of her childhood in Lebanon.
