The performance questions how we present ourselves in the digital realm, exploring avatars and metaverses as essential aspects of our future society. This piece uses digital media to foster self-expression and community formation, departing from traditional forms of representation. Drawing on Gilbert Simondon's theory of transindividualims, „ O cea n fli g ht “ combines motion tracking and gaming software to create an interconnected dance performance. The transdiciplinary team invites viewers to reflect on the transformative power of digital self-expression and its impact on our identities.

    • Jonny-Bix Bongers

      Jonny-Bix Bongers studied scenic arts at the University of Hildesheim and theater directing at the ZHdK in Zurich. He has worked as a director at various cultural institutions, including the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Goethe Institut. Since 2020, he has been participating in the first year of the cross-university, research-oriented, and transdisciplinary Master's program Design and Computation at TU and UdK Berlin. His research focuses on narratives of the future, participatory design methods, and workshop formats as a performative practice.

      In his current artistic work, he combines technology research, game design and performative art. He engages in both practical work and the conceptualization of audiovisual performances that incorporate motion capture, narration, and world building.

      Through his artistic and theoretical work, he examines the challenges of digital transformation and explores proactive, critical, and reflective approaches to shaping this transdisciplinary problems.
