Windows Into Prison

VR - AR France 2020
By Chloé Rochereuil and Chloé Rochereuil
For the first time in virtual reality, step into a prison for women to meet three female prisoners. Immersed in their cells and the daily routine of the prison, discover the personal stories of Lydie, Sandra, and Martine. How did they end up in jail? How is it to live in prison? Beyond fantasy and cliches on prison, the viewer experiences this strange place as it is, without any artifice. He meets Lydia, a mother of two who has been in prison for five years and is about to be released. Martine, one of the “grandmas” of the prison, has been in prison for 10 years and is now in charge of the prison’s library. And finally, Sandra, who is living in a special quarter of the prison with her newborn daughter. “Window into Prison” is the first VR documentary on prison for women. It offers the viewer a unique and necessary experience: step inside a prison and wonder about the role of jail in our modern societies.
